GitHub to retire older Copilot models Oct 2
GitHub said on 3 Sep 2026 it will deprecate Gemini 3.5 Flash, Gemini 3.6 Flash, Kimi K2.7 Code, and Claude Opus 4.7 across all GitHub Copilot experiences on 2 Oct 2026, pointing users to Gemini 3.8 Flash, Kimi K3, and Claude Opus 5. Business and Enterprise admins may need to enable the replacement models in Copilot model policy. This is GitHub Copilot, not Microsoft 365 Copilot.
